Igor Lobanov’s first yacht for Mangusta was presented to the world at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Mangusta Sport 104 incorporates classic maxi open elements (speed, comfort and elegance) and thus maintains the series’ family feeling. However, it is also a totally new craft with completely redesigned performance and lifestyle features.
The most obvious innovation is the design of the sides with large windows drawing light into the master suite and guest cabins, becoming one of the model’s signatures. They are also completely flush, a real masterpiece of engineering. The aft section is captivating and underscores the 104’s aggressive profile. The stern hatch also hides a garage large enough to stow a five-metre tender and a three-seater jet ski. Another signature is the sun deck which winds its way around the radar lending the area a pared-back, decisive look. The interiors are delightfully bright. In fact, full-height windows in the main saloon create a genuinely warm, welcoming ambience. There is a very strong dialogue between interior and exterior too. Lastly, MTU 16V2000M96L engines, Kamewa water jets and a new hull design deliver a top speed of 35 knots and an ultra-comfortable ride.
