Palumbo Superyachts announces the acquisition of a 13,048.98 sqm state-owned maritime concession in the Port of Ortona, marking a significant expansion of its industrial footprint along the Adriatic coast.
The newly acquired area, featuring direct sea access and an operational slipway, will be dedicated to the development of shipbuilding activities for the group’s prestigious brands: ISA Yachts, Columbus Yachts, Extra Yachts and Mondomarine.
Ortona: A Natural Home for Metal Shipbuilding
Located within a key Adriatic commercial port, Ortona has long been associated with metal carpentry and steel processing — an industrial heritage that aligns seamlessly with Palumbo Superyachts’ core expertise in steel and aluminium yacht construction.
The site strengthens the Superyachts Division’s production and logistical capacity, reinforcing the group’s strategic presence in a region historically linked to heavy shipbuilding and technical excellence.
A Strategic Move Backed by Solid Growth
The operation comes at a time of sustained expansion for Palumbo Superyachts in the 30 to 100-metre new-build segment.
With an order backlog exceeding €1 billion and 24 superyachts currently under construction across its shipyards, the company confirms both its commercial strength and its prominent positioning within the global superyacht market.
Giuseppe Palumbo, Sole Director of Palumbo Superyachts, describes the move as “a strategic step in the company’s growth path,” underlining the decision to invest in a territory whose DNA is rooted in metal shipbuilding and specialised technical expertise.
The Ortona facility will support the construction, outfitting and logistical management of large yachts, operating in synergy with the group’s established international production network.
