Fly 82, the new model in the Fly Series by Azimut Yachts, combines sleek exterior lines with interiors designed by Fabio Fantolino, in an elegant stylistic evolution of the earlier Fly 62 and Fly 72 models. The yacht interprets the celebrated Azimut aesthetic: the sea-facing stern area and expansive windows dissolve barriers, making a shared connection with the outdoors the very essence of the convivial experience on board.
With this project, Fabio Fantolino interprets life at sea and translates it into his own sophisticated yet understated architectural language, where comfort and aesthetic expression coexist on equal terms. The inspiration comes from a concept of fluid living that adapts to the varying rhythms of cruising and socializing, with interiors that aren’t a fixed backdrop, but a dynamic interplay of volumes and spaces, light and materials.
The designer’s language is rooted in the elegance and refinement of design archetypes reinterpreted with contemporary flair. It’s an approach that bridges the gap between ease and discipline, creating spaces that exude wellbeing without sacrificing structural precision. The result is a design that reflects a new philosophy of life on board: discreet, sensory-focused, and rooted in the spatial experience.
The exterior design is an expression of dynamic elegance, with a visual focus always oriented towards the sea. Fly 82 is the first model in the Fly Series to incorporate the Deck2Deck™ system, which elevates the convivial experience on the aft deck: the transom is raised to align with the cockpit, transforming into an expansive terrace facing the sea.
The interiors are imbued with refined elegance, harmoniously combining different materials and colors. The main saloon revolves around a large round table, the focal point of the dining area, while perfectly calibrated contrasts between warm and cool tones and matte and polished surfaces delineate the spaces without any sense of clutter. Earthy orange-brown color accents lend character to the interiors, striking a balance between tradition and modernity.
“I usually approach a design by thinking about the space as a theater piece, with stars and supporting players,” explains Fabio Fantolino. “Some elements take center stage, while the ‘supporters’ mustn’t alter the spatial hierarchy. What shapes the result is the balance between them all.”
The main deck flows smoothly from cockpit to saloon, with sofas and 180°-swivel armchairs that take full advantage of the sea views. The ribbed-glass bulkhead, back-painted in bronze and punctuated by rounded wooden rods, provides the backdrop for the Botticino marble table with its boldly sculptural lacquered base, and a terracotta-hued opaline glass hanging lamp elegantly illuminates the scene. The flooring options include duo-tone carpeting or hardwood with custom rugs.
On the other side of the glass bulkhead, a warm, wood-paneled corridor leads to the wheelhouse, which hosts the gallery and the main helm station. From here, a dedicated passageway provides access to the crew cabins, ensuring separation and privacy for life on board without disturbing the spatial continuity and flow of the layout.
The lower deck hosts the cabins, with a full beam aft master suite, a VIP cabin and two guest cabins, each with its own private bathroom. The master suite features a full-height nubuck headboard, a walk-in closet, a vanity and a loveseat, with a bespoke fabric-and-metal lamp that lends a note of color and measured asymmetry to the space.
The flybridge is conceived to be multifunctional, with a sunbathing area at the bow, a central table with a kitchen/bar, and three aft layouts for socializing, lounging and wellness. Every element is curated to guarantee balance, comfort and harmony, always showcasing the view and optimizing the onboard experience.
