M66 RS: a new generation blue water cruiser sailing yacht

The M66 RS is a new generation Blue Water Cruiser sailing yacht, designed to offer an unparalleled sailing experience by combining habitability, comfort, and safety. With an overall length of 20.40 meters and an innovative design, the Mylius M66RS stands as one of the finest sailing yachts.

The hull lines of the Mylius M66RS, crafted by Alberto Simeone, represent the state of the art in yacht design. The hull features a high prismatic coefficient, following modern trends, for better high-speed performance. It has a rather flared hull aimed at reducing wetted surface area while also providing form stability. The extremely flat aft sections increase course stability at high sailing speeds, facilitating surfing and the pursuit of speed with gennakers.

The Mylius M66RS is equipped with a generous sail plan, and thanks to its full carbon/epoxy construction, it leads the cruising-performance yacht category in terms of sail area to displacement ratio. In other words, the sail area is one of the largest among boats of similar size and weight. The installed engine is a Yanmar 4LV170 125kW, ensuring high and reliable performance in all sailing conditions.

The technical specifications declare a waterline length of 19.20 meters, a maximum beam of 5.73 meters, and a draft of 3.40 meters. The approximate displacement is 24,200 kg with a ballast of about 8,450 kg. The yacht also features 1000-liter tanks for water and fuel, providing great autonomy during cruises.

The Mylius M66RS stands out for its elegant and functional design. The modern lines and large windows ensure great visibility and a sense of continuity between the interior and exterior spaces. The spacious and livable deck offers a large cockpit and a generous bow area, ideal for relaxing during long cruises. The forward and low seats allow guests to enjoy sailing from a protected position, while the main maneuvers are led back to the cockpit for optimal boat management.

The interiors of the Mylius M66RS are designed to accommodate six guests in three cabins, each with dedicated facilities, ensuring maximum comfort and privacy. The central salon, illuminated by the large coachroof windows, offers a cozy lounge area with two opposing sofas, a dining table, and a generously sized galley located forward of the dinette. The owner’s cabin, located at the far bow, features a private bathroom with a separate shower, while the two twin cabins aft each have a private bathroom and separate shower. There is also a cabin for a crew member.

The Mylius 66 will be present at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival (September 10-15) and the Genoa International Boat Show (September 19-24), along with other models from the Piacenza-based shipyard.
