With naval architecture and exterior & interior design by the renowned Dutch firm Hoek Design Naval Architects, MY Far Niente features classic lines reinterpreted in the light of contemporary technology. Her hull design is based on the herring luggers that were fishing in the North Sea during the early 20th century. The hull and propellor were optimised through Hoek Design’s VPP (velocity prediction program) and CFD (computational fluid dynamics) programs applied as well to the yacht’s single propeller to maximise fuel efficiency for an impressive range of 3750 nautical miles at cruise speed.
The elegant combination of classic allure and modern technique is present as well in the Deck House, built in cold moulded wood composite, where timber beams and other structural elements are visible and characterised Far Niente’s interiors.
Together with her seaworthiness and efficiency, her hull design allows for high volumes and large accommodations. The layout is with an owners’ cabin forward and a large main deck salon on the main deck, a bridge and sky lounge on the bridge deck, and four double guest cabins, three crew cabins, galley and laundry at the lower deck.
