IBC Shipyard Celebrates 25 Years of History Highlighting Its Human and Technical Impact and Vision for Growth in the Caribbean

IBC Shipyard celebrated its 25th anniversary with an emotional gathering alongside more than 200 employees and their companions on the terrace of the Hilton Garden Inn La Romana, reaffirming a journey defined by vision, perseverance, and commitment to the development of the nautical sector in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.

During the evening, Alice Caslini, Marketing Director and Partner of IB Nautica Group, highlighted the human value behind the company’s growth:
“We are not only celebrating 25 years of a company. We are celebrating 25 years of people, sacrifices, and dreams built together.”

IBC Shipyard was founded in 2001, at a time when the local nautical market was virtually non-existent, with the goal of creating specialized infrastructure, developing Dominican talent, and generating sustainable opportunities for the region.

In his remarks, Mauro Caslini, President of IBC Shipyard, recalled the challenges overcome throughout these years including economic cycles, market fluctuations, and the impact of COVID-19 emphasizing that perseverance, teamwork, and a long-term vision have been key factors in the company’s progress. He also highlighted the social impact of the nautical sector in the country, which today generates approximately 30,000 direct jobs and benefits more than 120,000 people indirectly, noting that IBC’s collaborators are an active part of this evolution.

The celebration was also honored by the presence of the Ambassador of Italy to the Dominican Republic, Stefano Queirolo Palmas, who expressed his recognition of the company’s trajectory and the contribution of the Italian community to business development in the country:
“I congratulate the Caslini family for so much success during their first 25 years. I wish them great success, and many more achievements, in the next 25 years.”

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the recognition of employees with more than 15 years of service, reflecting the strong sense of belonging and shared growth within the organization.
Architect Gianfranco Fini explained the structural and technical evolution of the marina and shipyard, noting that its planning enabled organized and efficient growth aligned with international standards, while also pointing to the need to continue expanding capacities in response to growing regional demand.

Meanwhile, Giacomo Moriconi, General Manager of IBC Shipyard, reaffirmed that:
“Perseverance, passion, and a vision for the future have been the three keys that made these achievements possible.”

For his part, Federico Caslini, Sales Director & Partner of IB Nautica Group, highlighted the shipyard’s positioning, stating:
“We are the largest shipyard in the Caribbean, but we are also competing on an international level.”

As part of the anniversary celebration, the company also announced the launch of a training program with bimonthly sessions running through December 2026, focused on the personal and professional development of its team.

With 25 years of history, IBC Shipyard consolidates its leadership as a technical benchmark for the nautical sector in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, looking toward the future with a vision of sustainable growth, operational excellence, and strong human commitment
