During the Marche chapter of Vette and Onde Experience 2026, scheduled for 15th May in Ancona, Luca Dini, Florentine designer and founder of the international studio LUCA DINI Design & Architecture, will deliver a lectio magistralis dedicated to the relationship between architecture, yacht design and landscape.
Active for over thirty years in yacht design, architecture and interior design, Luca Dini has developed projects all over the world with his studio, creating numerous superyachts and large-scale architectural works. His work is distinguished by a vision that combines formal elegance, technological innovation and Italian design culture, helping to redefine the language of contemporary nautical design.
At the center of his speech, “the sea as a design laboratory and not just as a horizon” says Dini. In fact, yacht design focuses on some of the most complex challenges of contemporary architecture: “the balance between form and function, the integration between engineering and craftsmanship, the ability to design sophisticated spaces in a mobile context and in constant dialogue with the natural environment”, specifies the designer.
An approach that finds a privileged interlocutor in the Marche region. The territory represents one of the main poles of international shipbuilding, where industrial skills, naval engineering and high manufacturing meet.
The recent Timeless Series project developed with ISA Yachts, a line of yachts from 42 to 82 meters designed to combine innovation and classicism, also fits into this context: yachts designed to cross time without losing identity, in which every formal and functional choice contributes to defining a recognizable and lasting aesthetic.
This gives rise to a design philosophy in which the concepts are inspired by the fluidity of the seascape, while the interiors interpret “an idea of timeless elegance, deeply linked to the tradition of Italian design”, says Dini.
The partnership between the Firm and M3 Monaco, an international consulting firm specialized in the development of marinas, waterfronts and nautical destinations, is also part of this scenario in which the focus is on the need to create integrated, sustainable and high-performance nautical destinations, capable of combining design, strategy and asset management in the long term. An approach that reflects Luca Dini’s vision, increasingly oriented towards interpreting the sea as a complex infrastructure and an advanced platform for tourism and contemporary hospitality.
Luca Dini’s presence at Vette and Onde Experience “will thus be an opportunity to deepen the encounter between architecture and yacht design in the spirit of the sea”, exploring the relationship between landscape, technology and design vision in one of the most advanced sectors of contemporary design.
The lectio magistralis is part of the program for the opening event of the “Unusual Destinations” series, which in Ancona will bring together architects, investors and hospitality professionals to discuss new trends in tourism development between new luxury and slow tourism.
